soon you won’t know me at all

you sang

if i had my life to live over

i’d still do the same things again

and our eyes fell on you

like nostalgia on an aul yellowed snap

raymond left and you spiraled

in slow descent with your

pot of tea

you sit

night

after

night

cleaning dust

from under the telly

you can’t find your key

and tell me dolores

is light-fingered

and can’t be trusted

the fridge is stuffed with eggs

each day you buy a half-dozen more

you know me when i call

but you’re not sure who you are

soon you won’t know me at all
